R&D Engineer: epitaxy
Job description

As part of the roll-out of our new pilot line, we are looking for a R&D Engineer to help set up plasma growth reactors and develop new epitaxy processes.

You will work mainly on plasma growth reactors and diamond layers characterization.

Your responsabilities

You will be in charge of:

  • Installing, troubleshooting, and improving of plasma reactors
  • Developing and optimizing new epitaxy processes to improve the homogeneity of the layers,in close collaboration with the R&D – Devices team.
  • Collecting and monitoring the data to ensure the reproducibility of the layers produced.
  • Contributing to the implementation of new protocols for the preparation and characterizationof diamond films

The following techniques may be used:

  • Microwave plasma-assisted chemical vapour growth (MPCVD) and all associated techniques (vacuum techniques, gas flow management, etc.) – plasma processes and associated characterisations.
  • Materials characterisation techniques such as ellipsometry, optical profilometry, scanning electron microscopy, AFM, DRX, Raman spectroscopy, absorption spectroscopy, etc.
Various chemical treatments for wafer preparation.

Your profile

Master’s degree (or equivalent) or PhD in materials science, solid state or process physics or equivalent.
With or without experience, all applications will be considered.
Knowledge of MPCVD and vacuum techniques and a sound knowledge of crystal growth is required. Knowledge of the above characterization techniques and/or experience in diamond layer epitaxy would be a plus.
