In a context of electrification and hybridration of our transports and where the innovations and devices need even more electric energy to work, it is becoming urgent to choose materials which allow to obtain a greater energetical efficiency and a superior power density. The diamond is considered as the ultimate semiconductor, outperforming the performances of all other materials on the market, old (Si, GaAs) and new (GaN and SiC). The diamond semiconductor will be the prerequisite to go further, protect better and consume less.

DIAMFAB’s diamond wafers and process allow to reduce the devices’ environmental impact and optimize their energetic consumption.

A diamond electronic component take part in the low electric consumption:

  • Directly: by increasing the output of the diamond component based devices and thus decreasing the energy loss.
  • Indirectly: by reducing the vehicle consumption thanks to the loss of weight in the on board power electronic.

The diamond mainly composed of carbon is produced at DIAMFAB from methane, a gas which can be produced by natural and biologic means and without resources limitations.

Our Diamond wafers are chemically neutral. The diamond components will have a huge lifespan thanks to the extraordinary properties of this material. Yet if it comes to be necessary, the diamond components could be recycled to separate the metals from the diamond.
